Dr. Kelli Tahaney

Therapy for young adults

Your twenties get sold as the best years of your life. So it can feel confusing, even a little embarrassing, when they turn out to be some of the hardest. If you're anxious, low, lonely, or just not sure you're doing any of this right, that's not a sign you're behind. It's a sign you're in one of the most demanding stretches there is.

There's a lot packed into this decade. You're supposed to be fully independent while also figuring out what independence even means, holding down work or hunting for it, keeping up friendships that suddenly take effort, dating (or wanting to), and doing it all on money that rarely stretches far enough. Somewhere in there you're also meant to have a clear sense of who you are and where you're headed, which almost nobody actually does at this age. Drinking can quietly become the thing that takes the edge off, until you start wondering whether it's helping or just adding to the pile.

None of this means something's wrong with you. It means you're carrying a genuinely heavy load during the years everyone told you would feel easy. In our work together we get specific about what's weighing on you and build real, usable skills for it, whether that's anxiety, a low mood, a relationship you can't stop replaying, or a relationship with alcohol you'd like to change. We can meet in person in Boulder or online across Colorado and the PSYPACT states. Wherever you're at with it, we'll start there.

You don't have to have it figured out

You don't have to have it figured out before you reach out. That's kind of the whole point. Let's talk.
