Therapy for teens in Boulder
Someone may have sent you this link. Or maybe you found it yourself at 1 a.m. Either way, if you're a teenager and things feel heavier than they used to, you're in the right place — and you're not the only one who feels this way.
Being a teenager is genuinely hard, even when nothing "big" is wrong. School, friends, family, social media, your own brain at 2 a.m. It all adds up, and it's a lot to carry at once.
Coming to therapy doesn't mean something is broken about you. It means you get an hour with someone who isn't going to freak out, judge you, or run to your parents with everything you say. We figure out what's actually going on and what might make it feel more manageable, at whatever speed works for you.
You've probably noticed something. Maybe they're more withdrawn or more irritable than they used to be, sleeping too much or too little, dropping activities they used to love, or you just have that gut feeling that something's shifted. You don't need it all diagnosed before you reach out.
I work with teenagers all day, I know how to build trust with someone who didn't exactly volunteer to be here, and I'll be clear with you from the start about how privacy works so your teen can actually open up. More on how parents are involved.
What therapy with me is actually like
What you say mostly stays between us
For therapy to work, you have to be able to say the real stuff. So the things you tell me stay private, with one important exception: if you're in danger, I'll loop your parents in. I'll explain exactly how that works in our first session so nothing catches you off guard.
I'm not going to lecture you
I'm not here to tell you what you're doing wrong or hand you a list of rules. I'm genuinely curious about what your life is like and what you want to be different. You get to be honest here without bracing for a speech.
We start wherever you want to start
You don't have to walk in and spill your whole life on day one. We go at your pace. Some days that's the deep stuff, some days it's just venting about your week, and both are allowed.
Curious? Let's just talk first
If any of this sounds like you, it's worth a conversation. The consult is free, it's 15 minutes, and you're in charge of what happens after.
